Alan is an Appointed Designated Minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church. He is known around the city as 'The Wedding Chaplain' and he is probably the best known wedding officiant in the Ottawa area. Recently a couple sent these remarks: 'We are over the moon happy with your performance at our wedding. Some of the comments we received from our parents and our guests is that you were personal, funny, a great public speaker, genuine and “ran the ceremony like a pro". Luc and I are so happy we were able to have you head our ceremony. Please know that you do a fantastic job and anyone that hires you for their special day can sit back and relax because you have all the details and intimacy handled. Thank you +++Natalie and Luc. Just one word of caution. He books up well in advance! Another couple said: If there was an "above and beyond' option, we would select that one. Alan is an amazing person. Everyone is still talking about how much they adored him! See more on his Video.
Tess has all the qualities one wants in a Wedding Officiant. She’s a life coach, a engaging public speaker, dynamic, and a genuine person. After retirement from teaching at Algonquin College, she’s redirected her passion and enthusiasm to providing couples with the personalized wedding ceremony of their choice. Located in Nepean (West Ottawa), she has given back to her community by volunteering for many philanthropic organizations such as Immigrant Women Services Ottawa. Her number one priority is to conduct a ceremony that is not only memorable, but one that truly honours the spirit of love shared between each couple.
Jean is a true people person. With him, it will feel like your wedding ceremony is performed by a long-time family friend! Fluently bilingual in French and English and a resident of Gatineau, this experienced Designated Minister is at his best speaking before a crowd, big or small. He will work with you to give your own personal touches to your ceremony. Diversity and inclusion are values dear to Jean’s heart; he received two awards for his work on Pride Week and an Inclusion Symposium. Jean enjoys the performing arts; from concerts at the NAC to being invited by his friend to watch and support his child’s dance competition. He is also the proud cat dad of Bokchoy, Pamplemousse and Ravioli.
Peter is an award-winning wedding officiant. He says: 'It would be my absolute pleasure to be your wedding officiant for one of the most important milestones you will experience in your life. My 37 years of experience in the Canadian Military has given me the opportunity to grow and experience a wide variety of communities. This has given me the ability to relate to many different cultures. My wife Marie and I have been married for 43 years and have lived in Kanata for over 20 years. I am an active volunteer within my community and an advocate for our youth. During my free time I enjoy swimming, cycling and most of all taking long hikes with Maggie and Rambo, our golden retrievers. I am a caring and compassionate individual who will work closely with you to ensure a positive experience on your special day." Peter is open to any and all types of ceremonies and theme weddings. Take note! Peter is much in demand.
Ed lives in the Ottawa area with his wife (and best friend) and their dog (admittedly, a very spoiled dog). He's perfectly bilingual in English and Spanish, and he could also perform your wedding ceremony in basic French. Ed is a Designated Minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church and holds his Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity degrees. His time is shared as Church Administrator, a hospital chaplain, and training as a psychotherapist. While he may sound a little “too churchy” for some folks, Ed understands that, on your wedding day, YOU are a blessing to the world and your day should be a most memorable one. Your married life journey begins with your wedding day, and he is only too happy to assist you to make that day your very own. Ed is comfortable officiating your wedding with or without a tie on, in summer comfort, in a suit, or with a collar and religious vestments if that’s your thing. Ed loves reading, doing research, and writing. He is also blessed with a musical family, playing musical instruments and singing. Ed also loves golf, even though you will probably never see him on the PGA Tour!

It’s an honour and a privilege to be asked to perform your wedding ceremony. How can one not want to share and be part of the energy that surrounds the love of two people. My family and our dog Dixie live a simple life in Kanata. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their adventures, and so I volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion and the Sports Club. My hobbies include a good mystery novel or movie and trying to find out “who done it” before the ending. Although I don’t have a green thumb, I enjoy puttering in my garden and sampling the tastes of the fruits of my labour.
Love for many is embodied in the commitment made in a wedding. There are few things more meaningful than the wedding ceremony reflecting the love you share. I would be honoured to officiate your wedding no matter the vision for your ceremony. We will create into the ceremony any customs that are meaningful to you because a wedding should be about you and your partner. I can read Hebrew and am familiar with some of the Jewish customs celebrated in a wedding. “The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard but must be felt with the heart.” Helen Keller. Shelley is an Appointed Minister.
I’ve been a long-term resident of the Carleton Place area and having raised my three sons, I am now available to help others like you, celebrate your love and commitment to each other. I’m an experienced motivational speaker and I have been told that people remember my Scottish brogue. It adds something a wee bit different to any occasion. As a happy and upbeat person, I love to read, enjoy my daily walks and visiting with friends. It would give me great pleasure to perform your ceremony and ensure it’s memorable for you and your guests
